Remembering Keith

Remembering Keith: a festive wake

Sunday, June 25, 1:00-4:00 PM (Mountain Time)

The Pumphouse Theatre in Calgary, Alberta

The Pumphouse is the original home of The Loose Moose Theatre, the company Johnstone co-founded in 1977.

If you'd like to attend this celebration in person, please register HERE. Due to Keith's far-reaching impact on so many people, we are unsure of what to expect in terms of numbers and need to ensure the venue can safely accommodate all who wish to attend in person. Therefore, we kindly request you register as soon as possible.

If you cannot attend in person, "Remembering Keith" will be livestreamed with a conjunctive celebration happening in Brazil. Here is the link to the live stream: https://youtube.com/live/HmdbSNdWEsg?feature=share

If you will be traveling from out of town, book accommodations as soon as possible given the Calgary Stampede is happening the second week of July and places book up weeks in advance.

EVENT DETAILS...

  • Pumphouse Theatre, 2140 Pumphouse Avenue SW, Calgary

  • Travel/Parking at Pumphouse: Plenty of parking at the Pumphouse if you will be driving. If you do not have a car, we suggest Uber-ing. Public transit is available, but you will have to walk quite a distance from the nearest train station (C train / Sunalta Station is about a 10-15 minute walk to the Pumphouse)

  • Food/drinks at the Wake: there will be a Mexican food truck with vegetarian and vegan options outside of the Pumphouse and a cash bar for beverages inside the Pumphouse. Other light snacks (things that Keith liked!) will also be provided.

ALSO, attend a show at Loose Moose Theatre Company

On Saturday evening, June 24th, make sure you plan on attending the Secret Impro Show at 8:00 pm! Tickets (only $15) can be purchased at the door or online here https://www.eventbrite.com/e/652127871017

  • Many former Loose Moosers who will be in town for “Remembering Keith” will be there. This will be another wonderful opportunity to honor Keith and his legacy. Did you know Keith called those early impro training sessions, held in the basement of University of Calgary’s theatre department in 1976, “Secret Impro Shows”?!!! Loose Moose is carrying forth this tradition! Don’t miss it!
